Rosie the band's weblog

A Blog Post

We haven’t done one of those in a while, which is strange considering the shenanigans we’ve been up to! I guess I just prefer the instant satisfaction of Twitter and Facebook.

As some might remember, we were doing an African Soundtrack a while ago. The others gave up on me, so I was left to do it on my own. So, without further ado, I give you Zebra Music:

Last weekend we were recording in The Crypt. The track-listing is still a secret, but I can tell you it will be truly awesome. The night before we had cold feet about one of songs so we wrote a new one. It was a little risky to say the least, but I think it worked out perfectly.

At some point we’re going back to do some mixing and fix some of Doug’s vocals because he’s crap.

We finished at about 5am on Sunday (all four of us were running entirely on coffee and curry), so we were pretty refreshed for our gig the next day. I’ll admit we were a bit dubious about this one. All three of us were silently cursing Matt from 6k for making us play in the middle of the day at a school. But what do you know? We were greeted with quite possibly the best audience we have ever had. I don’t know whether it was just the extreme boredom of the school day or the fact that we’re generally amazing, but these guys went WILD. We had 1000 of them rioting in a school car park. We had mosh pits, crowd surfing and they nearly killed Doug! They also tried to tip over my car. NOT COOL :p

I never thought I’d say this, but Tadcaster Grammar KICK ASS.

Video evidence is on its way.

I’m still busy with the site. It looks like this -> www.rosietheband.com… for now. We’re hoping for it to become more integrated into our web presence as I work out how to get my head round the designing of the thing.

Those of you who don’t know already. There is a facebook page for the Fibbers Battle of the Bands. As you can see, I’M THE ONLY ONE COMING! Not cool. Get yourself over to York.

As I utterly failed to get any photos when we were recording, I’ll leave you with a rather lovely photo by Rob Booker.
